Is this just a fancy way to write "webp" and "jpeg" (extra large)?
Fancy? As in are these the logos for Webp and JPEG XL? Then yes, these are logos.
JPEG XL is a new image format that has better compression and more features like HDR over JPEG.
And layers. And animation. And it's not patented by Google
