Mike Jones, who wrestling fans knew as Virgil and Vincent, has died.

The news was confirmed by Pittsburgh referee Mark Charles III who had one of many who continued to look in on Jones as his health failed.

Charles III posted to Facebook on the morning of February 28, 2024:

My dear friends, it is with great sorrow that I bring news from the Jones family of the passing of our beloved Michael Jones, whom we know and loved as Virgil, Vincent, Soul Train Jones and more.
Virgil passed peacefully at the hospital this morning and I ask that you pray for him and for his family.
May his memory be eternal!

The former WCW star was diagnosed with dementia in 2022 and prior had two minor strokes before Jul. 12, 2022.

Just last week, Charles was spearheading an effort to have Jones moved from an ICU to a nursing home after two more strokes. According to Jones’ sister, he never had cancer as had been reported elsewhere.

We will have more on this story.

Noticed over the last few hours at least 4-5 new bot accounts have spammed a thread I made last week with random comments with links to purchase shite. They seem to target older threads I assume to reduce the risk of people finding and removing the comments/links but should any of you see such comments, please to report them so myself, Tellum or Neon can wipe em out.

Thank you <3

Meltzer: "One of the things they've been looking at, and it's not going to happen any time soon, but they want to go live. The idea is to go live and have a location where they would go every Thursday. And Full Sail University is one of the locations that they've talked about....and there are probably other locations as well".

  • Dave says it would be difficult because Orlando already has NXT each week.
  • Scott D'Amore and Lou D'Angeli already went to Full Sail to scout it out.
  • There is some cost savings at Full Sail because they can have the students work on the production side and have students fill up the crowd.
  • A problem is that they're selling some tickets now for their TV tapings. They would need to give tickets away for free if they did Full Sail every Thursday.
  • Dave could see TNA doing a few test runs before the end of the year.
  • Mentality is going live by 2025.
  • Things may have changed with Scott no longer being there.
  • Dave thinks going live would be a bit more exciting for the wrestlers but doesn't know if it will help TV ratings...especially on that channel.
  • "Is it worth the extra cost for a company that is obviously trying to keep costs low? So... we'll see."

Ole Anderson has passed. (media.kbin.social)

He was an important part of wrestling history. That is the sole good thing I will say on this post about the man.

The former women’s tag champion has been noticeably absent from programming, with her whereabouts now explained. According to Fightful Select, Niven sustained a hand injury over the last month, which is why she has been out of action. While not confirmed, the fear is that Niven broke her hand.

Expect Alex Hammerstone back in TNA sooner rather than later, he is booked for the next PLE which is Sacrifice. PWInsider is told there is great interest on TNA's part to sign Hammerstone. However there is no confirmation if the two sides have locked into a deal yet.

They should make Sting the new commissioner of AEW and he could be Commissioner Borden... he can hide in the rafters, keep wearing the trench coat and the disappointed dad look while sending Darby out to handle problems... play it up like The Animated Series' Commissioner Gordon and Batman...

On the latest "Kliq This" podcast, Kevin Nash said he is not on WWE payroll and cleared up what he said last week on why he won’t be at Sting’s last match. Nash previously stated that Sting invited him to be there but Nash couldn't go because of his affiliation with WWE.

“I never said that (that I was on the WWE payroll)," Nash said. "What I said is I’m a WWE guy. I can’t have a picture of me in the crowd and underneath it says, ‘Is all Elite.’ I just can’t have that. It just doesn’t work. One of my closest fu**ing friends is Paul Levesque. As much as I love Steve and I know he will only have one last match, I will watch it. We will talk about it. I haven’t been to a WrestleMania, a RAW, a SmackDown, or any of the other pay-per-views. I haven’t been to any events. I don’t want to go to any place and be around a bunch of people, let alone wrestling people. I just don’t want to do it. I’m a hermit and that’s it.”

Kevin Nash’s co-host said, “I thought a couple weeks ago that the ‘Cody Crazies’, that it was genuine. Now I think they’re loving Rock as a heel.”

Nash responded, “That’s why I said all along the money is Dwayne in any form or fashion. If Babe Ruth, if you can get him to come back in a time machine and play for the Yankees, he would be the most over motherfu**er on the Yankees squad. He’s Babe Ruth. When you’re a shell of yourself and you were a superstar, that’s one thing. Like, even John Cena is much smaller and he’s losing his hair. He’s showing age. Rock is like Yule Brenner. Every time I see ‘The Ten Commandments’ and Yul Brenner is walking around, I’m like The Rock stole his sh*t from Yul Brenner.”

I don't think the details were in the original article so:

QT Marshall is All Elite….again.

Fightful has learned that QT Marshall is returning to All Elite Wrestling, but in a much different capacity. Sources indicated to Fightful that Marshall and AEW worked out their prior issues, and he’ll be coming back in the VP role that he once held. However, he is not planned to return as an in-ring talent.

Those that we spoke to say that an agreement was in place as of a couple of weeks ago. He has not started back with the company as of yet.

We’re told that Marshall is free to wrestle outside of AEW, with the exception of WWE. The 38-year old Marshall hadn’t wrestled since his AEW deal officially ended on December 31 until this past week's TCW show, but has shown off his physical transformation on Twitter.

Marshall has teamed up with Teil Rhodes to revive Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling, which was a creation of Dusty Rhodes. Their first show was February 8 in McDonough, GA and featured former WWE Superstar Matt Cardona as well as Scotty Riggs, Glacier, Aaron Solo and more.

Marshall has not been backstage at AEW as of yet.
