Exactly my thoughts.
I checked the spectral Cycles branch devtalk thread and it seems to be pretty much dead, and this patch looks like the final nail in the coffin.
I hope the work and effort of the community contributed in any way to this, I believe the branch ended in a point where there were too many issues too hard to deal with.

Some more good news is that according to someone who knows more than me presumably (u/Eary in the devtalk forum), I quote:

we can avoid the previous community branch attempt’s complication around E white point and D65 white point CAT adaptation, and we also make the architeture more physically meaningful in a way that the light spectrums can be real known ones with filter, instead of completely arbitrarily uplifted from RGB. [...] This is actually quite elegant

Though they also mention that this implementation has its drawbacks in some specific edge cases and assumptions taken (hardcoded stuff), which would need multiple presets to handle all of them.

In the official devtalk forum, core developer Jeoren Bakker asked Android users to support Blender's Android port with a playstore app (no Fdroid that I found) named 'Vulkan Caps Viewer'.

I believe Lemmy to be specially of interest due to the possibly higher percentage of more niche phones.

How to:

  1. Install the app
  2. Check the top to find a green text 'Device already present in database'
  3. If it says so, there's nothing to be done, you can uninstall the app. No need for you to do steps 4, 5 nor 6
  4. Otherwise, I believe it is needed for you to upload the GPU compatibility with the top leftmost button (I did not have the option so I'm not sure) (also I see people also sharing a link to their specs, so not sure)
  5. Then, after that sign up / log in to the devtalk forum and publish a comment stating your phone brand and model, and if given, the link with the info
  6. Then you can uninstall the app

More info in the official link provided.

If I got any of the steps wrong, please do correct me.

More info about the original post in the Blender Studio Mastodon official account's provided link.

They say they will wait to polish the pipeline before they publish it as a free addon in the extensions platform, but the video looks promising.

Honestly? It looks like you're on the right path, based on what I see.
I'd keep focusing on the CC and progress through, since that'll open up even more stuff, which is more possibilities.
Other than that, on a general note, I'd suggest if at some point you want to tidy up and have all machines in one place, to build a Shed.
On the decoration stuff, my SO likes to follow other people's designs, and they have really beautiful farms.
For money, most stuff will take some effort to get a lot of money, though for what I see, other comments already mention that. You can improve all processes to make the most money, mining = desert, crops = greenhouse, fishing = fish smoker + fish knowledge, animals = more expensive animals.
Once you complete most of the game (getting perfection is hard), I'd also suggest you getting mods. They'll bring the parts of the game you like the most to a new level, as they are made with love from the community. You can get mod bundles or select them manually, but you'll find ease of life features and extended content. I always recommend automate for a 2nd playthrough.

I did not provide more details because of trying to hold off on spoilers

How do you like to play the game? The suggestions depend on that.
Do you find yourself min-maxxing proffits or mine levels? Or you like relaxing and going with vibes? Do you like decorating stuff to painting levels?
Also, what activity are you enjoying the most?

Mine is Keeper of the Celestial Flame

Not only the lore is great, but the intro is amazing

To add to this, IMO the focus in procedural generation in Cubyz brings in that the end game and engine is less focused on mimicking minecraft, so they'll add ideas that a base minecraft engine couldn't.
This also implies that if you've already played Minecraft, Cubyz will most likely be a newish experience.

You could say that mods can implement anything, but the base design influences how mods will be designed and what workarounds they'll have to take. If the design were perfect, no mod would ever take a single workaround.
