I've been so excited for this silly little game since it was first announced.

That's Ghislaine Maxwell, socialite and friend of Trump and Epstein. Currently in prison for sex trafficking.

You know, in case their connections to Epstein island weren't obvious enough.

As a smoker, we appreciate you šŸ˜…

I have a family member who has an autoimmune disorder, among other chronic pains. Cannabis really helps people like her, and that's the most exciting part about this. It's a medicine that people rely on, and definitely not the same as meth or heroine.

Precisely. The biggest opponents of legal cannabis always mention that children are getting it. Hell, children are still getting alcohol, and that's regulated like hell in this state. May as well legalize pot and make some tax revenue from it, too.

To navigate those complicated questions, the governor has issued an executive order to create the North Carolina Advisory Council on Cannabis—comprised of up to 30 members, including lawmakers, law enforcement officials, agriculture industry stakeholders, health experts, tribal representatives, advocates and others to explore possible regulatory models for adult-use marijuana and hemp.

The order says there’s a need for reform because the ā€œcurrent lack of regulation, including age, potency, and purity limitations, poses a threat to all North Carolinians, particularly our youth.ā€ And ā€œrather than allowing this unsafe and unregulated market to continue, smart and balanced regulation presents an opportunity not only to protect the health and well-being of our people, but also to generate revenue that can benefit our state.ā€

The panel will be required to hold its first meeting in July and then convene at least every other month through December 2026. Members will be tasked with developing and submitting initial recommendations on a ā€œcomprehensive cannabis policy, including any proposed legislationā€ to the governor by May 15, 2026. Final recommendations will be due by December 31, 2026.

Great news for people who use cannabis medicinally. It'll take awhile, but maybe we'll finally leave the stone age and join the majority of states who have legalized it.>->

Hello! Just joined from lemm.ee, happy to be here! Once I get settled in I plan on donating to help keep server maintenance. I understand the value in decentralized platforms, and wish I had done so with lemm.ee (which wasn't their problem, it was moderation, but I digress).

I look forward to seeing familiar usernames here! 😁
