There is simply too much going on in The Silmarillion to cover it in a single movie or even a trilogy.

It always felt a lot epic than LOTR IMO, even it is a flawed piece.

https://rutracker.org/ or https://mazepa.to/ if you're even more paranoid about getting caught using torrents.

Both resources support English search, have well seeded netflix content and English audio tracks are always provided for English language content (just set your player to default to english). Rutracker especially has lots of niche/older content you simply won't find on streaming platforms. Mazepa has a lot less content (in context of niche/older productions), but its also less on the radar and netflix content is generally well covered.

I don't know about North America, but in Europe you should be able to use both services via torrent streaming for most netflix content. Might even work in North America.

You'll need to register on both, but it's not difficult with a webpage translator. There is a solid number of english language users on rutracker.

Lot's of other options as well if you don't want to deal with foreign language; Usenet which requires a fee, private torrent sites (can be a pain to get into and maintain ratio though).

The first time I heard "Crush On You" I was blown away by the intro, but totally let down by the drop. I understand and appreciate the intended effect by the switch up, but it's never been my cup of tea. The official and unofficial remixes have never solved it for me so I finally had a go myself.

Every Day EP on Bandcamp

The OG version is also bomb (much more of a minimal/techhouse feel):

I thought the Dredd remake was really good and I normally do not like American comic book movies. I would even argue the remake felt a bit more realistic than the original (which was decent, but not great).

You just blew my mind.

I just realized he was in Xena (and Hercules?), I associate him with post late 2000s productions for some reason.

RIP

Kind of crazy to think Starship Troopers was released almost 30 years ago, when Muldoon was 29.

I’m not going to argue that Highlander is a cinematic masterpiece. The critical response was mixed to harsh, and the film wasn’t a box office success either, grossing just $13 million against its $19 million production budget.

I never knew it was box office failure when it was released.

When the author listed the adjacent media, she forgot to include Highlander: The Search for Vengeance; the 2007 anime based on the Highlander.

While I have pretty solid exposure to anime, I actually don't like the vast majority of anime. This is one of those anime experience that I would argue has crossover appeal. The art style isn't annoying, the characters and writing are relatively well done. It's actually a solid entry in the Highlander franchise.

Sure, it's cheesy in many respects, but its central mythology still resonates even decades later.

I was actually planning to watch it in the cinema. :) Thankfully I missed the cinema window. I would not have wanted to waste a cinema trip on this.

I am relatively easy going about quality and there are many b-movies that I find very entertaining (I am not only talking about cult classic type productions), but it's difficult to enjoy Return to Silent Hill. I even liked the second Silent Hill movie (I get the impression the first one is slowly becoming a classic with time); it wasn't great, but it had its own experience to offer.

The main actor's expressions and style was off-putting. I couldn't get rid of the feeling that he was thinking in his mind "what the fuck is this shit?". The horror elements didn't work, I didn't feel any tension. The effects seemed solid from a production quality/budget perspective, but they also felt off, in a way that much smaller indie production don't.

Their story telling was also subpar. I've played the original SH2 and seen the other movies, there is a solid base for a good horror story. This felt more like a bunch of Silent Hill themed scenes stitched together with a dude who looked like he has better thing to do.

I prefer sharing interesting movies that I enjoyed, but Return to Silent Hill was bad enough that I had to write this post.

Probably should have gone in with lower expectations (watched the second one with no expectations and I had a good time).

I thought it was pretty good. Watched it in the cinema, I didn't regret it.

I don't think it was the best movie of 2025, but it was entertaining and relatively well made and somewhat original.

It works great, I've been using a Pi SBC for torrenting for nearly 10 years now (in addition to NAS, a media server, Pi-Hole and more).

I would strongly recommend going with DietPi. It has a great set of custom CLI management tools, very active developers and a relatively large community (150K+ installatios active last quarter). It's based on Debian for ARM so it has a solid foundation.

This is really good if you like sci-fi action b-movies.

The use of Limewire in this context seems to be more of an interesting news novelty.

That being said, in any democratic leaning country that truly values freedom (in the real sense, not the polemical American sense), the distribution of such media would not be an issue and you wouldn't have to resort to Limewire, a torrent would suffice or even another broadcast TV network would air with violation of copyright.

Pretty slow move. 2029 is nearly 25 years since YT founding (and streaming existed around ~10 years before that; remember RealPlayer?).

It's still somewhat big in certain regions, even younger people torrent (although streaming piracy is more popular).
