I only use official and flatpak, I wouldn't even use flatpak if official had more.

Chaotic aur might be worth looking into if aur is what you want. Everything there is theoretically checked.

Game controllers can generally be used that way too, so you pose a good question.

The only logical answer might be because they want to create waste, and consumers have not demanded that they offer corded/cordless mice.

I wouldn't buy a cordless mouse that couldn't use rechargeable AA's or AAA's. Consumers really need to take control, these companies deliberately create ewaste.

I switched to noai.duckduckgo when startpage went ai. It is a lot better than when I tried duckduckgo in previous years, and definitely better than startpage was. I haven't noticed any issues with search returns.
