I found the puzzles in the older Frogwares Sherlock Holmes games easier when high. Went from trying to make any sense of it to “ok set that one to six and move the knob over by three” and bam. Still don’t know why it worked, but my brain found a pattern.

I guess I’m one of them. I’ve never used LaTeX, but I don’t know how else I’d pronounce that.

I’d never heard of him before the recent Game Changer episode. Now I’m in love

I work in Cybersecurity, and have about 4 years experience. I’m currently in a SOC Manager role. Working at an MSP, it hasn’t always been easy to deal with the politics surrounding some of our clients, especially in the current administration.

One of our clients is, at least from my perspective, directly involved with supporting and advocating for genocide. This has been eating at me for months, and finally culminated in me telling my manager I was resigning.

He took it well, and they asked me to stay on for 90 days while I looked for a new job. The issue is that I’m 45 days into this and have barely received a few nibbles from my applications. I know my resume isn’t perfect, but I’d thought my experience would be enough to hear back at least from tier 2 analyst positions, if not the management ones.

They’d probably let me stay if I asked, but my soul can’t take it anymore. But I’m really worried about the job search getting even harder once I can’t say I’m currently employed.

Honestly if you don’t have a ton of other options, I don’t hate this. I always wanted to get several super thin flatscreens and set them up playing 24/7 nature livestreams from different sources. It would be like gazing out portals to different parts of nature.

Sure, being out in nature would be better, but it’s better than blank walls and parking lots.

There are a lot of good mobile games these days, but I’ve yet to find one I like that can be played in portrait view. I don’t enjoy holding my phone sideways. If they could figure out how to let me enjoy Balatro or Slay the Spire with one hand, I’m investing.

-Edit So grateful for all the recommendations. Keep them coming!

I’ve been thinking about this recently while playing Hades 2. I bet it’s a memory thing. Much easier to remember your potion recipe if it’s rhymes and has a good meter. “Newt’s eye” works fine in a list, but “Eye of Newt” scans better in a given situation, for example.

My cat’s main redeeming feature is that I can slide my legs under her entirely to readjust positions and sometimes she doesn’t even look at me. Try to touch her, on the other hand, and it’s death.

My dog behaves like the cat in this meme.
