A Doctor Who fan immediately thinks of Vashta Nerada.

I truly wonder what's the purpose of that behaviour though. Kill every last bit of motivation pre-job? I remember a time, when the hiring process wasn't pure vitriol. Are these HR people so fed up with their jobs or what's going on?

This is great!

I don't think that's distro related. I've played GW2 on Mint with an Nvidia card and it worked just like on Windows. I installed the Steam version though and linked my account.

What Proton version are you using in Steam to play it, did you try some different ones? Without knowing what your issue really is, there are some tinker steps mentioned on ProtonDB, maybe have a look. It's really hard to recommend anything without more info.

This is an ongoing community collected list of podcasts in German and English that are available via RSS-feed. The topics are roughly in the subject area “Free Software, Free Society”.

The Website is in German but you will be able to use the list regardless. A handful of podcasts are in English.

Thank you for this beautiful app!

I have a minor issue I cannot seem to resolve - the upvote/downvote count vanishes immediately after reloading the page. I am using Librewolf (that is based on Firefox) and I have tried to disable uBlock Origin entirely but I can't get it to display correctly. Anyone else ran into this and found a solution? Thanks!

Image attached how it looks for me.

EDIT: Thank you for the responses, I'm not entirely sure what I did, but now it's working as intended. I'm very happy about that because Photon rocks!

Yes yes, I REALLY want to terminate that process and I am very sure about it too, ty.

What a stupid headline.

"So who are these people? They're a bit more likely to be female. While both the comparison groups were roughly evenly split between male and female, the superspreaders were 60 percent female. They're also older, on average 58 years old, nearly 20 years older than the sample as a whole."

Typically recommended guides:

Have a good transition and if you stick with Mint, I'd recommend the official forums for any questions: https://forums.linuxmint.com/index.php

Linux Mint and Pop!_OS are the most recommended beginner friendly distros that "just work" in my experience. That being said, before you install, you can try out the look and feel here: https://distrosea.com/

Is there a text version of this interview?

[-] Kory@lemmy.ml 26 points 1 year ago

Yes. It's like "let's not pursue new ideas, it's too risky. Let's repeat what worked once" - like in the movie industry as well. It's boring and uninspired.

Actually I feel excited, because Lemmy has sparked a new interest in news aggregators and the fediverse and I'm enjoying my time here a lot.
