Other than this (also works for levers), these types of pens usually didn't fill completely. The ink sack was also much smaller than our contemporary converters (and bigger systems like pistons). People just used to fill them more often and would not care that much to get it as full as physically possible. Ink wells used to be more abundant as well in many places. If their pen is vintage inspired, it may just be part of the charm. For example, those old Waterman pens have a small capacity but gush ink like there is no tomorrow. You'd better have a bottle of ink close by.

  • With photography as a subject (pun intended) the shot composition goes pretty hard as well.
  • The opening has a little moment at the end where they hug that white thing. A similar moment can be found in one of the K-ON! openings (also Kyou-ani).
  • This episode is also longer than 24 minutes. I thought that was just for the first episode. If it consistently runs for about 27 minutes, that would be pretty rare.
  • It seems that this anime is going to be more continuous with some plot elements than Nichijou. With that I mean that even if there won't be some kind of grand plot, the episodes do seem to build upon each other in a linear fashion instead of being mostly moments that are separate from eachother.

I'm sorry to say but it is indeed a pinafore dress. A pinafore dress is just a dress you wear over shirts or blouses. They are very prominent in slice of life anime but in real life, not so much (at least where I live). The Japanese took this from western culture just like the sailor seifuku and held on to them, but in the west itself these types of things are considered to be a bit old school, out of style. This might make them hard to find in shops.

If you can't find a good one, maybe you can make one for yourself as a sewing project. I have seen people on youtube making them. I believe they are popular in the west with people who are into vintage styles.

Also according to Wikipedia it is called a "jumper" in American English so if you are in North America that term might yield better results for you.

As a man they are one of my favorite garments to see women in but the world around us has quite different tastes and sensibilities. It seems being either "hot" or "hip" is more of a focus in the west and wearing a shirt under a dress doesn't really fit that. I'm sure that in Asian countries you would have a lot more choice in dresses and skirts and other more classic choices for woman, just like a lot more men in Japan still wear suits to work whereas in the west this is very rare.

I don't think so, she doesn't seem to believe in the message yet. Still worried about it. I'd like to think this is but temporary. Konata wears it with great pride, as she should. Bless her.

Tamako market and love story do seem to be a bit underrated and not much attention is given to it online. I finished Tamako market and love story not long ago. It's in the rotation now so once in a while I'll post some Tamako art.

There seem to be way more people that keep saying that they hate Arch users who keep saying that they use Arch than Arch users that keep saying that they use Arch.

  • set a good tty font (it's almost all you're gonna see)
  • be comfy with basic core utils (mv, cp, chmod, ...)
  • choose a shell (bash, fish, ...) and set up some useful aliases/abbreviations
  • fzf or something similar does wonders (also replaces things like dmenu)
  • terminal multiplexers are used instead of window managers
  • some applications allow you to do some graphics (like mpv to play video)
  • there is more advanced stuff you can do with frame buffers
  • there are terminal browsers like w3m or lynx
  • a good extensible text editor is essential (vim, nvim, emacs, helix, ...)
  • research some cli applications for your usecase (cal (calendar), neomutt (email), ...)

Over time your collection of aliases and scripts will grow to make common tasks you do easier.

I don't see why the moderation tools couldn't just be improved on Lemmy. The new moderator view has been very useful for me as a moderator. We already have Lemmy and Kbin. The Sublinks about page doesn't say how it is going to be different/better than the existing options apart from moderation tools. On top of that it is made in Java instead of Rust? That's just going backwards in my opinion... This post also does not state why you guys are interested in a Lemmy alternative. You could have named some issues you have with it and why something else would be better(just like the Sublinks guys could have done in their about page). I started my communities here and put a lot of effort in them. I can't just switch instances without destroying most of the work done. The language used here really makes it sound like this instance is on borrowed time. Being able to transfer communities to another instance would be nice...

Nothing. Which is great: everything already works for me. Any improvements and extra market share is cool. But I'm vibing already.
