Perfect for VR!
When I first got into VR I was staying with some friends in a spare room pretty much just like this. Just a mattress and the floor; I’d just push the mattress against the wall for VR.
Only the mattress needs to go. It's a trip hazard

Ayyy that's a garage with carpeting, finished walls & ceiling, recessed lighting, this man is a winner for sure.
I hate recessed lighting with a violent passion.
It's okay in the kitchen. It makes any living space 30% less hospitable to human life

Carpeting? Who are you, King Louis XIV? Tear it out and sell it while it's new. If you really need, get a small throw rug (or keep a slice of the wall-to-wall).

You could have saved money by getting an inflatable mattress and then spending it on 2nd hand TV.
