It happens. Just be aware that someday you could have a kid, and they could really hate intellectual stuff and love sports, and say stuff like "my parents are so boring, they only talk about science and philosophy stuff but I want to talk about..."

Just different people being interested in different things. Only important thing is that everyone is okay with different people actually being different.

I just wish that any of my family were still alive to talk to

I suspect, if you took an interest in what they do want to talk about, you'd find them much more interesting than if you expect them to care about what you've just mentioned.

...

Like we went to see Project Hail Mary the other day... their English sucks so I had to explain the plot to them afterwards... and they're just like... "cool" not really seem to understand the whole story... and like didn't ask much questions...

I felt kinda sad...
