hello (lemmy.ml)
submitted 17 hours ago* (last edited 16 hours ago) by DylanMc6@lemmy.ml to c/lemmy@lemmy.ml

i just woke up, and this is a little test - i just got banned from !slop@hexbear.net, and i'm NOT even sure if this is the right community to post this on. does anyone know?

that said, first off, i would like to sincerely apologize for calling the genocide over in gaza a "feud". i called it a feud because the countries of israel and palestine have been a war, but i realize now that me calling it a "feud" is sort of an understatement and is a bit insensitive. oh and i WASN'T pulling the ol 'both sides are bad' card - i strongly support palestine in this war in gaza.

secondly, i sincerely promise to act in good faith and learn a bit more when it comes to socialism/communism. i sincerely hope you forgive me.

if anyone has any resources to watch without losing focus, i'd appreciate it. thank you!

edit: i just edited the slop link. seriously!

Hexbear is run and populated by toxic extremists largely unable to deal with middle ground and a spectrum of opinion, last I checked. I'd consider this a fortuitous omen to block the whole instance and dust your hands off as a job well done.

shhh, DON'T say that, you're gonna get the hexbear people angry!

I'd heard about them before, but prefer to reserve judgement until I see things with my own eyes, or at least directly see how they're treating others.

Eventually, at my community, I posted a comic examining some of the various self-strife between Israeli folk, and from out of nowhere 3-4 Hexbear users who'd never taken part before materialised and began ranting about Israel and calling me and the community some pretty awful things. After that, I started paying a little more attention to their user comments across the Fediverse. Just... yikes.

i do think israel and palestine should both agree on a permanent ceasefire, and by that they WON'T fight anymore, and israel will definitely NOT commit genocide anymore. this would probably give people in palestine enough time to overthrow israel's government and merge that country with palestine.

but even if the country of israel violates that ceasefire and continues genociding people, there's still gonna be a revolution. just saying. seriously!

Wasn't me, but you can post in !yepowertrippinbastards@lemmy.dbzer0.com if you want discussion of a moderation action you received.

I would have probably given you a temp ban, but considering you just got banned from a hexbear account for the same sort of activity and are now complaining about 'tankies' in this very thread, that would probably have been too kind.

secondly, i sincerely promise to act in good faith and learn a bit more when it comes to socialism/communism. i sincerely hope you forgive me.

do you think hexbear is run by tankies who DIDN’T realize that you DON’T have to support stalin to support marxism-leninism?

hmmmm sounds like good faith to me

that last part, i was venting my frustrations with hexbear - especially the more hardline admins and mods there. seriously!

it's a Marxist/anarchist space, and tankie is not a meaningful term, it's an epithet for punching left. if you're expressing contrition maybe stop acting like every other social democrat shitter running around here.

what about libertarian socialists/communists?

[-] Diva@lemmy.ml 2 points 11 hours ago

could you explain how that's not covered by the categories I listed
