Suspicious? No, pretty certain the economy is swirling around the drain, not just a suspicion.
I think you're optimistic. I think there are some bits stuck to a tangle of hair, but 9otherwise that shit is gone.
It's easy: If the numbers where good, trump would brag about them. QED
The greatest mystery in all of this, to me anyway- is why the hell people have chosen to circle their wagons around this gelatinous freak show pedophile? He’s made it perfectly clear he has no problem throwing anyone under the bus to save his own ass.
Jim Jones may have the answer but he's dead.
Dog ate my homework again. It was all perfect too.
BLS has historically been the reporting agency of record, but it is a long way from the only source of information.
Current US economic data is relatively flat per the 12 Federal Reserve districts.
To be fair, they left them under the Epstein files and those damn things have an amazing ability to just disappear.
Fair and balanced
The reports that have been canceled:
- Jobs Report
- Inflation Report
- GDP Report
While not great, the list is 3 items long. This really feels more like the results of the gov shutdown than a conspiracy to keep Americans from realizing the economy ain't all that good.
The jobs report has been cancelled for the last two quarters. And the one report we did get was so bad that the team that produced it were all fired by the administration.
Not a good trend.
Oh yeah, I had forgotten about that bit. That part specifically is looking pretty bad.
Still, the other two seem very attributable to the gov shut down (vs malice). Its def sus and worth watching, and I don't mean to say "there's absolutely nothing here", moreso I mean to say "let's not be alarmist".
(My thoughts on that are driven by how apathetic I've seen a lot of people become at the constant alarm bells at every thing the administration does. I think we need more data - ironic, I know - before we conclude malice on this).
PS: and its not like real people aren't aware the "real" economy (not stocks, GDP, etc but grocery prices, transportation, etc) isn't doing so hot. It feels like the other week that my newsletters were focusing on how badly the Trump administration is messaging about the economy. Lol, it strikes me as a bad move to be blacking out these reports, if that's what they're doing.
Wow, check out Mr. benefit of the doubt for pedophiles over here. You talking yourself into a job with ice or something?
What behavior of the administration are you using to base this benefit of the doubt you've got going on here?
Sounds like the sort of thing I see from the right wing sycophants elsewhere on the internet.
I'm very open to criticizing where criticism is warranted (and there's been a lot to criticize). If this article was focused on how irresponsible its been of the administration/congress to let these reports be canceled, I'd be all on board.
But it phrases it as a coverup, and it doesn't address that we just got out of the longest government shutdown in US history*. That feels like a more likely explanation here. As someone who's spent some 15 years working for government at different levels, I can tell you, it takes time to bounce back from shut downs.
Primarily, my original comment was to answer my own question of "which reports have been cancelled" (I assume that's the kind of things others would be curious about, so trying to save them a click). I only got skeptical when i saw the total reports canceled was 3.
I suppose I'm not clear how many reports would have / should have come out in this time frame. If they've canceled 3 of 3, then yeah, that'd be a solid nudge me in the coverup direction, but even 3 of 5 would feel a lot more "its because we're still getting things spun back up".
* one of the cited twitter posts does indicate that one report was delayed because of the shutdown, but the author of the article doesn't seem to co wider it as a viable explanation
Edit: formatting is hard
Were these reports delayed in previous shutdowns? I certainly don't recall that happening, but maybe I'm forgetting.
You are tripping over yourself to give the benefit of the doubt to people who have shown over and over and over that they do not deserve it.
Just stop.
You had to be reminded they killed the previous job reports. You are clearly not well informed here.
That is some insane hubris you have; insisting you have some insight the well informed missed. Could have excused it if you didn't keep trying to push your poorly informed narrative, which neatly aligns with the Trump narrative.
vs malice
What? Thats like saying "it wasn't violent, I just dismembered them with a claw hammer while they screamed and struggled"
Those are the three metrics the government reports on that Trump likes to brag about the most. The fourth is stock market gains but those are primarily reported by the markets themselves. If there was any way to spin the numbers in a positive way they would have shit something out, even if they could somehow only show even a lessening of a negative trend they can say started (rightly or wrongly) under Biden.
I moved from California to the midwest a few years ago and I barely see any MAGA or Trump flags anymore where they used to be quite common. At least in my area the cult is getting much less visible as the economic situation worsens. I went to the last "No Kings" protest to check it out and see if my rayhunter could detect anything. There were several hundred people there in my small town and a lot of them were former Trump voters who were fucking pissed. I think you are underestimating the damage official confirmation of how fucked the economy is would be to his narcissistic ego and the elect-ability of Republicans in general.
Oh fuck off with this bullshit
Pressing X on this one, champ
