Now, they will callously wield her memory as a political tool to channel racism against Afghan refuges that had the audacity to assist in the US invasion of Afghanistan.

I was curious whether they were actually doing anything illegal. National guard can't actually do anything stateside besides disaster relief, so when they're activated for "unrest" they're just there to look scary or whatever. They literally don't do shit.
Another actually helpful lemming pointed out the deployment itself was illegal, but that wasn't even clear until the ruling because Trump literally is their commander. Him deploying other states' guards on title 10 orders is blatantly illegal, DC wasn't as clear cut.
