We should also ban fentanyl and cocaine.

Outright banning shit doesn't work. Are they going to bust the door down to everyone's house and strip search it to find every weapon?

There needs to be a massive mental health and police reform, and clean up these neighborhoods where gun violence is prevalent. Id love to get rid of all guns but it will never happen, ever.

En contraire my friend. We should actually legalize every drug. They are not the problem. The drug business in the hand of criminals are.

So, also legalize every type of weapon too? Thats not making sense.

Still no one has ever given an answer to fixing the gun issue in America. There is no solution, so arm yourselves.

Generally speaking, drugs are used by the purchaser on themselves. Outside of suicidal tendencies (which you've already addressed with mental health reform that I agree with - something that will naturally address both the drug abuse and gun violence problems to great extent), most weapons are typically used against others. They are NOT equivalent.

I don't know why you should legalize that? What's even your point?

I get what you're saying, but you're comparing apples and oranges

[-] bridgeenjoyer@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 month ago

Probably a bad comparison

[-] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

Wouldn't that be great

No thanks. And take the rest of the socialist noise with you.

The way to fix NYC is to reduce/eliminate zoning restrictions. Do that and builders will build, and prices for rent and whatnot should fall. The next biggest problem is probably traffic, so expand the subway, improve bikeability, and find all that with selling naming rights on the bridges (Larry Sharpe's idea, at least the bridge naming bit).

Mamdani is about the furthest thing from a libertarian. Publicly owned groceries? Really?
