Would be cool to make from steel , aluminum housing and steel internal parts

I printed this morning. Fit was perfect on mil-spec lower. Did not fit into my Hoffman SL-15, but could easily be modified to get clearance. I didn’t have time to swap out the rotary safety, but hoping to do it soon. I really like the design and the simplicity of a drop in SS.

Fully printed or are there parts to buy?

Printed parts currently. No one has production parts, though they seem like they could be easily made

Sl-15 pocket is very narrow, working on a dowel pin based sl-15 lower. Would require a reprint of the lower

But... Did you shoot it?

No, I did not shoot the rushed PLA POC.

When the PPA-CF one is finished, I'll report back with live fire results.

as i said on another post, SCS has the thickness for the trip lever. 4.7mm

That’ll help lever longevity, but I’m also worried about wear where the lever and ‘activator’ interface.

yeah, but with SCS having the trip, that significantly cuts cost down. it was like 1.25 per trip. so getting the "activator" machined would still be reasonable cost overall.

I printed one in pla+with 90% infill had 4 rounds of 556 left in the mag before wearing out where the lever and activator meet. Definitely curious if I should print one in cf. It would take me 2 weeks before I go back to Tennessee before I can print another one and find out how long it would last or if it was worth it as I live in florida currently. I could definitely see it working as a cast or machined part for longevity but not as a printable item, though carbon fiber and nylon have surprised me many times with other prints.

Meanwhile, I’m about to print everything in cf nylon after dry function checking in PLA +, but I won’t be able to attempt live fire for a few weeks 😆

I didn't dry fire just went straight to it and put rounds down range. I don't know why people are scared to just go at it with pla? It's fun and the print time as a whole was only a few hours. Also I'm sorry you said carbonfiber nylon? Didn't know there was such a thing. Any brand you recommend?

For sure. I just like to check fit/function with cheaper material before using the good stuff. Will definitely test out once I can get the time to get to the range

Ah gotcha. I wish I could just go to the range with one. I live in florida so I cant even be in possession of one.

Haven't seen this yet. Is this drop and works with standard "m16" bolt?
u/TheAmazingX · 2025-06-29 18:37:42 UTC · score 1
The original will work with any FA bcg, the issue so far has been compatibility with different lowers.

I see. I have a PSA and a few poverty pony lowers... I imagine those have already been tested. Only 3d2a lower I have I a SG22.
I may try one on my PSA... gotta buy some ammo that isnt 22 lol.
After this is working hopefully a working Ak one is in the works next.
