Unfortunately the chances are pretty high they took this down right after posting.

Cameras would easily show who entered the bathroom, would be foolish to actually do this and leave it up. Also hope the print queue isn’t stored, they could be in for a rude awakening.

Maybe. Right period of my life, if I were in those circumstances, I could have seen myself leaving a few in bathrooms on the way out and not giving a shit who knew it was me as I walked out with my cardboard box. Not today probably, but at any time during the years when no one else had to rely on me for the necessities of life I might have.

I’m in this same position. It’s by design that we feel trapped by our jobs unable to speak freely. Wild how that 1st Amendment is doing zero work for us right now.

Man... that last sentence hit close to home. I feel in the same position

Don’t forget tracking dots….

Or are we collectively more foolish to allow our government to be transformed into something more terrible than it already was, all the while cowering at our workstations, afraid of the consequences should we cause the slightest perturbation?

State Dep workers take an oath?

[-] hansolo@lemmy.today 39 points 1 week ago

The overseas ones take literally the same oath to uphold and protect the Constition as the President.

Tons of Federal employees take the same oath, but not all. But so do Peace Corps volunteers, members of the military, I think some local or state police, judges, everyone in Congress, most state legislators IIRC, and I'm sure im missing a few others.

Yes, although it’s generally more of a signed piece of paper or PDF thing than a saying-out-loud-in-front-of-people thing.

[-] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 4 points 1 week ago

Probably should be the first one tbh

[-] hibsen@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago

It’s not practical at scale — any employee working for a cabinet department (and probably more than that, what do I know) takes the oath. If they violate it later it’s easier to store a PDF in the personnel file to provide evidence they agreed to it in the first place.

Every civil servant signs off on some sort of ethics policy.
