micromobility - Bikes, scooters, boards: Whatever floats your goat, this is micromobility
Ebikes, bicycles, scooters, skateboards, longboards, eboards, motorcycles, skates, unicycles, heelies, or an office chair: Whatever floats your goat, this is all things micromobility!
"Transportation using lightweight vehicles such as bicycles or scooters, especially electric ones that may be borrowed as part of a self-service rental program in which people rent vehicles for short-term use within a town or city.
micromobility is seen as a potential solution to moving people more efficiently around cities"

It's a little sad that we need to actually say this, but:
Don't be an asshole or you will be permanently banned.
Respectful debate is totally OK, criticizing a product is fine, but being verbally abusive will not be tolerated.
Focus on discussing the idea, not attacking the person.
As a Tern owner, I am here to tell you that you can approximate the benefits of a belt by waxing your chain. It lasts over 1000km on a single treatment, doesn't dirty your clothes or hands, doesn't pickup dirt, runs smoothly and silently and your drivetrain stays light and easy to service. Waxing is trivial with the newish Silca waxing system.
I've read that you pretty much have to completely dry your chain off when it gets wet with wax though: With a belt you never really have to worry about drying it off unless something corrosive gets on it. Even when it does get dirty you can literally just hose it down and be done with it.
This is why I like my Priority Folder: Between the belt and the IGH, it's very easy to take care of. Definitely not as efficient as a well maintained chain and gears though.
It probably also depends on the type of chain. I run KMC EPT chains which are corrosion-resistant. I think regular Shimano chains are also corrosion-reistant. Higher end chains that look shiny have rusted on my bike when I used to use teflon dry lube. I haven't seen rust on my waxed EPT chains yet. They have been wet. I haven't dried them up. With that said I haven't ridden them in rain extensively.
Belt would be less maintenance than that for sure. I just think that for a chain user, an EPT chain with wax can significantly reduce it and provide the cleanliness benefit too. Def not the same, but if you already have a chain drive... ๐
I've been thinking of switching to a waxed chain for a while now, KMC makes good chains in general though.
If you have some money burning a small hole in your pocket, try it. Worst case you're back to chain lubrication.
