I’m incredibly distanced from the rest of my extended family. No one reaches out to me because they can’t, and I don’t reach out because they’re all fascists and I’m queer. This is how it should be. They don’t know my address or my contact info, and I wait patiently for their lives to end.
I'm estranged from my mom's family, but I found out my cousin's kid is queer and now we email back and forth. Kid is in high school and I think it does him good to know he's not the only queer person in the family. His mom's decent, we just didn't have much of a relationship because my cousin's mom sucks so much.
Edit: and his mom knows we correspond, she's cool with it.
Sad, but completely justified
