The steam frame runs linux, so if they support the steam frame device they will by definition be building linux support.

The Steam Frame has two modes, streaming from a PC or standalone. Furthermore, Valve's product page focuses heavily on the streaming capability.

So, no, your statement is not true. And besides, they didn't even make any commitment to supporting it! They said they would look into it. That's all.

I'm just saying that if they do support the steam frame natively, not just via PC streaming, then that would be adding linux support.

They didn’t say they would support the Steam Frame, they said they would “working toward compatibility options”.

That’s not a commitment to support Linux.
