I'd be really interested to see how it runs the IoT edition instead of mainline Windows

Out of the box the ROG Ally runs Xbox FSE which is a stripped down Windows optimized for gaming, so the comparison isn't with the mainline. I didn't find a comparison with Xbox FSE and Windows IoT though.

I'm inclined to believe IoT would still have a partial advantage because of it being devoid of any unnecessary components - FSE still includes their "Gaming AI" and the Microsoft Store because it's for home users rather than enterprise customers.
