1 - selfishly, I have been truly happy for the first time in an extremely long time and I want to see where this happiness is leading me. I've been waking up excited to see what happens next. I don't want to miss the ending; I'm hoping it'll have a fulfilling conclusion.

However, from a more objective standpoint, we don't know who else is out there in our universe. Pressing the lever because of the shitshow here on Earth is also a selfish act as you may be ending the lives of an incalculable number of intelligent species just because humanity is having a "No Good, Very Bad Day".
